How We Help
Since 1992, the
Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership has been busy – busy bringing new resources,
new homes, and new life to communities throughout southwest and south central Minnesota.
Here’s just a taste:
New Resources
- Gathered over $330,698,000 of public and private investment to the region.
- Initiated and developed comprehensive homebuyer services, which has now served 3,779 people in education, 925 households in mortgage counseling and 96 households in foreclosure counseling.
- Brought in private investor tax credit projects to create 592 affordable rental units.
- Financed 641 rental units through essential function bonds and other sources.
New Homes
- Enabled 316 households to purchase homes with low-interest mortgages, gap financing,
or closing cost assistance.
- Constructed 264 new affordable single-family homes in rapidly growing communities.
- Developed 18 units of service-enriched housing for families and individuals with
health needs with an additional 20 units in the process of being developed.
New Life for Homes and Communities
- Rehabilitated 1,379 homes and 1,172 rental housing units for low-income families in
local communities.
- Repaired 323 downtown businesses and community buildings through low-interest loan
programs.
- Provided disaster relief services to 636 families affected by tornadoes or floods.
- Prepared 604 lots for new housing development.
